Mr. Garton has over two decades of experience with program and project management,
grant writing, and administration. He used his degrees in education
(bachelors and masters from the University of Illinois) first to
teach in public schools and then to develop educational materials
for computers. His professional work experience prior to consulting includes both university
and small business employment, with specialties in computer-based
education, software development, and computer security products
at the operating system level.
As an independent consultant he can put his experience to work
in many different environments-generating funds, saving time,
reducing risk, and lowering costs--without the obligations of long-term
employment.
His favorite type of work is
initiating and organizing new projects--getting them up and running
so they stay on track with minimal management involvement--and doing
this in a way that engages the people involved and propels them
to greater career success.
